Lydia Chastain

Lydia was born in Buffalo, NY but spent the majority of her childhood in South Carolina. She enjoyed the outdoors throughout her life, but her first exposure to agriculture came when she met Tyler Chastain in high school. Although she had a lot to learn, she connected with farm life immediately. She loves the way that farming requires her to seek God as she works within His creation. Long before her passion for farming, Lydia had an interest in business. She grew up watching her father excel in business and wanted to do the same. Stumphouse Farms has been the perfect opportunity for the passion for business and farming to come together. Lydia earned a Bachelors Degree in Marketing as well as a Masters in Organizational Leadership from Anderson University. She enjoys utilizing her skills and education on the farm to ensure a healthy business is maintained. One of Lydia’s greatest joys is sharing the farming adventure with Tyler and their daughter, Lucy.

Austin Rose

Raised in the small town of Pendleton, SC, Austin discovered his love for the outdoors at a young age. He began exploring the field of agriculture in the FFA program at Pendleton High School. After graduation, he earned an Associate’s Degree in Science at Tri-County Technical College. Soon after, Austin was accepted into the CAFLS program at Clemson University where he focused on a degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology. During his time at Clemson, Austin determined that his ideal career would put him in the outdoors as much as possible. Four months after graduating from Clemson with a B.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Biology he reconnected with a former Pendleton Alumni, Tyler Chastain, and became part of the Stumphouse Farms team. Austin has been an integral part of the research, trial and error, and daily maintenance that has built the farm into what it is today. Â
